PORTRAIT SESSION FAQs
When should I schedule my session?
Permitting we have the date available, you can schedule your session any time you want to, even if it’s a year in advance. All that we require is a non-refundable 50% retainer fee to book your session. Please bear in mind that Spring Break, Easter, Summer and December book up fast so book early to avoid disappointment.
Can you hold the date for my session?
Unfortunately, we cannot hold the date for you without a retainer and signed agreement. Customers are accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.
How do you take payment?
Our entire booking process can be completed online on our secure site. We require a 50% non-refundable retainer fee with the remaining balance to be paid prior to the start of your session. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card.
What if I need to cancel my session?
Your session retainer holds your session time exclusively for you. Once you book we take that date off of the calendar and do not take any backup bookings during that time. As such, session fee retainers are non-refundable.
Is there a specific time of days that is best for portraits?
Yes! We try to schedule portrait sessions to start roughly one to two hours before sunset or up to one hour after sunrise. The soft natural light is wonderful, and we can avoid the squinting and harsh shadows that comes with our bright sunlight.
Can you suggest some locations that are great for portraits?
Absolutely! Our Island has many stunning locations for portraits. Once you complete the Portrait Session Questionnaire letting us know what type of setting you would like we will be able to suggest locations that would be perfect for you.
What happens if it rains the day of our session?
If it is raining one hour prior to the start of your session, we can re-schedule for another day/time. We always recommend for our clients to book their sessions within a couple of days of arriving on Island to leave room for rescheduling in case of bad weather and to avoid sunburns in your portraits. However, the weather in the tropics changes from hour to hour so don’t let a mid-day shower fool you. If it’s just a little gloomy, we can still shoot outdoors without a problem. In fact, cloud coverage makes for some gorgeous photographs.
What should we wear to our session?
This is probably the most asked question by our clients so we have put together a What to Wear article. If you are still unsure after reading, We would be happy to help you, just let us know. If you would like hair and makeup services for your photo session, we can put you in touch with a few recommended providers.
How long will it take for me to get my images?
The edited digital images are uploaded to your online gallery about 2-3 weeks after your session. All images will be available for viewing and download from your personal online gallery where you can order prints and share your images with other through email or social media.
Do you edit and re-touch all of the images?
We edit each image individually to make sure that colour, saturation and lighting are true. We edit to polish and enhance what is already a great photograph to begin with. We also do an enhanced edit (re-touch) to approximately 15% of the images such as skin softening, blemish removal, black & white etc.
